Overview
boikot's MCP server exposes a single tool, lookup_company_information, at https://mcp.boikot.xyz/mcp with no authentication. It accepts one parameter, company_name, and returns information about the company's ethics drawn from the boikot.json dataset. Each entry in boikot.json represents a company's ethics record and includes a 'names' array (the first entry is the most commonly used name), a 'comment' summarizing the ethics assessment, a 'sources' object mapping source numbers to URLs, a 'tags' array describing the company, and metadata such as 'logoUrl', 'siteUrl', and 'updatedAt'. The MCP tool therefore provides a structured view of a company's ethics by querying the dataset for the given name and returning the associated ethics record, including provenance through the sources and links to the company's logo and website. All data and services on boikot are freely accessible under GPL v3. The server is designed to support transparency, enable consumer-friendly lookups, and serve as a simple integration point for apps, researchers, and journalists.
