Overview
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for residential heat pump sizing, cost estimation, and cold-climate performance verification. Works out-of-the-box with bundled data—no API keys required. The server includes 81 heat pump models, 2024 state-average electricity rates, and TMY3 weather data for climate zones. It exposes tools for sizing, energy cost estimation, and cold-climate checks, plus data access endpoints for climate design temps, heat pump models, and climate zones. Guided workflows help users size heat pumps, analyze costs, and verify cold-climate suitability. It runs via uvx with no installation, and can be integrated with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients. Optional live electricity rates can be retrieved via an EIA API key. The project uses FastMCP, ships with bundled data, and provides design temperatures and climate data; data sources include EEWeather and manufacturer specs. This server is aimed at homeowners, energy professionals, and HVAC contractors seeking AI-assisted sizing, cost analysis, and resilience-focused performance verification.
