Overview

The Sanctions MCP Server is a powerful sanctions screening API that leverages OFAC APIs to assess individuals and organizations against major global sanctions lists such as OFAC SDN, UN, and OFSI. It is prepared for integration with Claude via the Model Context Protocol, enabling conversational prompts to trigger targeted screening workflows. The server supports screening across multiple sanctions lists, a configurable minimum match score, and detailed entity profiles. It can process requests that identify cases as individuals or organizations, and it can use different sources to tailor checks to your compliance needs. Deployment is Node.js-based and includes example configuration to run with Claude Desktop, including environment variable for the OFAC API key. Inputs include cases (names, dates of birth, addresses, and IDs), type (person or organization), minScore (0-100, default 95), and sources (e.g., SDN, NONSDN, DPL, UN, OFSI). Outputs return match details, scores, sources, and entity profiles to support risk-based decisions.
