Overview

Grok-MCP is an MCP server built for xAI's Grok API, exposing a suite of capabilities through multiple Grok models and tools. It provides access to Grok-4, Grok-4-Fast, Grok-3-Mini, and additional models, enabling image understanding, image generation, and vision analysis. It includes live web search with citations from news, the web, X, and RSS feeds, plus reasoning models for extended thinking. The server supports stateful conversations to preserve context across requests and offers a conversation history toggle to reuse prior context. It lists several tools available for clients, such as list_models, chat, chat_with_reasoning, chat_with_vision, generate_image, live_search, stateful_chat, retrieve_stateful_response, and delete_stateful_response. The README also describes setup and configuration, including Claude Desktop integration and an optional Filesystem MCP server for accessing local image files, plus standard commands for running in stdio or Docker and debugging with MCP Inspector.
