Overview
The Flightradar24 MCP Server is a Claude Desktop MCP server that leverages Flightradar24 data to provide real-time flight information through Claude prompts. It enables users to track any flight in real time, retrieve estimated arrival and departure times for specified flights, view the current status of flights at a particular airport, and monitor flights that have declared emergencies. To use it, you need Claude Desktop and a Flightradar24 API key. The setup involves cloning the repository, installing dependencies, and building the project with npm, followed by configuring Claude Desktop to launch the MCP server via node dist/index.js with FR24_API_KEY and FR24_API_URL environment variables. An optional .env file can be used to store the API key securely. The README includes macOS and Windows configuration paths and notes that API access requires a Flightradar24 subscription. Once configured, Claude can answer queries like ETAs for specific flights, which flights are currently at an airport, or whether any flights are in emergency status, providing a practical real-time aviation assistant.
