EchoComet is a privacy-focused development tool that processes and builds code context entirely on your device. It lets you browse a local project, pick files and folders, and assemble a single prompt that combines your question with the exact code context you selected, removing tedious copy/paste. Context is prepared locally; EchoComet does not upload project code to EchoComet servers. It includes AI-powered context and prompt analysis to suggest clearer prompts and improve results. Real-time analytics show line counts, character counts, and estimated token usage to help anticipate costs when sending prompts to large language models (LLMs). Prompts and context are then sent to web-based LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, and others) that support large context windows. EchoComet is designed to handle very large contexts (multi-million-token backends), making it suitable for complex codebases or cross-file problems. Integrations include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI; users supply their own API keys and bear responsibility for third-party terms.
